Food Grade: is a label regulated by the FDA which mandates those containers must be Brand New, never used; despite what so many people may claim. No amount of cleaning will ever make a used container food-grade again. Southern Container sells reconditioned containers, previously used only once for food products. All of our items are triple-rinsed and sanitized with bleach inside and out. It is not uncommon for small amounts of mold to appear in some containers if they sit for a long time. Using bleach or white vinegar will remove the issue.
